Not sure what to do this Lent? Take up the Bishop's Lent Challenge

Feb 2020 cover

This year the Bishop of Guildford is challenging people to’ keep things simple’. Each day a reflection will be published that will help you reflect on what God’s Word says about keeping things simple, your personal and spiritual wellbeing and the busy and driven world we live in.

Each year the lent challenge offers an opportunity to partner with various projects that help improve the lives of people locally and further afield. This year donations will be split equally between The

Bishop of Guildford’s Communities Fund and Youth Leader Conferences of The Episcopal Church of South Sudan.

To sign up to receive the daily reflections direct to your inbox, and find out more about the call, visit our website. You can also follow #LentGuildford on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, where we will be sharing the daily reflections and information about the two projects the call is raising money for

Come on a Pilgrimage around Ockham

On the 14 March I hope that a number of you will join me on a pilgrimage around Ockham, beginning and ending at All Saints'.  The walk will be about 5 miles, taking us up and across the disused airfield, down to Bridge End Cottage (for refreshments) and back to All  Saints'.

We will meet at 10.30am in All Saints car park. The route I have planned iwill require boots boots. Events on the way are being planned as ‘spiritual staging posts’ according to St Francis: the ‘little poor man’ who talked to the birds and animals, flowers and rocks and hoped for a kinder, gentler world. Let’s hope it’s a lovely spring day!
